Through navigating chronic neuroplastic symptoms and healing, we are often searching for the “right” way to heal. Of course, we all want to heal, and it can be very helpful to receive guidance.
However, it is also important to remember that all of our journeys are a little different, and to find the tools and practices that bring you the most peace and calmness.
Today, I was reflecting on what helped me the most when I was couch-bound with Long COVID?
Here is a list of what helped me the most in moving from deep fear and debilitating symptoms into a life of fully living again with ease and joy.
TMS knowledge, learning I am not broken and nothing is wrong with me
This helped me to stop fearing my symptoms and start feeling safe in my body again.
Calming guided meditations
Gave my nervous system a chance to slow down, relax, and feel grounded.
Calming hz music
Created a peaceful environment that helped reduce stress and overthinking.
Practicing self Reiki – calming time with myself and breathe
Helped me reconnect with myself, feel present, and create moments of calm and safety from within.
Taking a full research break / stop Googling fixes
Broke the cycle of fear, obsession, and constantly searching for answers.
Listening to other TMS full recovery stories mostly on Dan Buglio’s channel
Gave me hope, reassurance, and confidence that recovery was possible for me too.
Practicing self love, kindness and compassion
Helped me stop fighting myself and start responding with patience and care instead.
Finding simple joys
Reminded me to focus on living life again instead of constantly focusing on symptoms.
Expecting / visualizing full health
I visualized myself as fully healthy and let go of the timeline in between, trusting it to be true. This does not mean doubt never arose, but I always came back to hope and trust, spending time visualizing myself in vibrant health.
