Letting go can be very difficult… but it can also be so freeing and healing.
Recently, I was feeling quite tense and having a hard time relaxing. So I asked myself,
“What do I need to let go of?”
I decided to take some quiet time to stop, go inward, connect to my breath, and reflect.
After sitting with this, I realized that I needed to let go of:
- Control over my new home to being perfect.
-Expectations of myself to do everything at once.
-Along with expectations I had for my partner to be perfect.
Once I took some time to notice this and release these expectations, I felt a lot better, and things actually started to flow more smoothly.
I recently created a
“letting go meditation” to help with this process.
Illness can also be a powerful time to let go.
I know that when I was couch-bound with debilitating symptoms, I slowly learned that I needed to release a lot…
-My strong attachment to my self-image of perfection.
-The need to show others that I am perfect all of the time.
-The belief that I am only loved when I achieve great things.
-The expectation of a timeline to heal.
-The pressure I placed on myself to heal.
-Along with old beliefs I held about why I was sick.
To name a few…
So, if you are feeling tight, frustrated, or stuck, try taking some quiet time to pause, listen, and ask,
“What do I need to let go of today?”
Whether that is an unhelpful thought, a belief, or simply too much tension in your body.
I hope this meditation helps bring you a sense of relief, calm, and grounding.
With gratitude,
